Tipper selection for laterite, granite and site haulage — body steel, chassis ratings and the spec choices that decide earnings per trip.
Construction haulage in Nigeria runs on tippers — and the difference between a profitable unit and a workshop resident is decided at specification, not at purchase price.
Match the body to the material
Laterite and sand are forgiving; granite is not. For aggregate duty specify 8 mm hardened floor plate with sealed welds and wear strips at the impact zones. Thin bodies are cheaper on paper and expensive in season one.
Chassis and route
- Site and short-haul work — 4×2, 10–16 m³, easier on fuel and tyres
- Quarry to site — 6×4 HOWO/Shacman class, 16–20 m³, reinforced suspension
- Mine and hard access — 8×4 or 6×6 territory; talk to the engineering desk before quoting
The spec conversation
Tell us the route, the load and the worst week of the year. Every quotation lists spec options with their price impact, so the decision is made with numbers. Start from the tipper family page, then price it with the tipper price guide.
Prices on this page are indicative FOB ranges based on current factory listings; duty, levies and FX rates change — always confirm current requirements with SON, the CBN, Nigerian Customs and your clearing agent before shipping.
