Skip loader and hook lift pricing: truck-plus-container packages, what the arm system really costs, and landed math for waste contractors.
A skip loader is really two purchases: the truck and the containers. Quotes that look cheap often price the chassis alone — here is how the package math works.
FOB ranges by configuration (indicative)
| Configuration | Indicative FOB (USD) |
|---|---|
| Arm-lift / swing-arm loader, 5–10 m³, Dongfeng 4×2 | 14,000 – 28,000 |
| Hook lift truck, 8–10 m³, Dongfeng 4×2 | 12,000 – 22,000 |
| Hook lift, 16–18 m³ heavy duty, HOWO/Shacman | 20,000 – 45,000 |
| 8×4 hook lift for transfer duty | 35,000 – 60,000 |
| Open skip container (each, 10–18 m³) | 800 – 2,500 |
Buy containers with the truck
Matched geometry means the hook engages first time, every time — order 3–6 containers per truck so sites are never waiting, and ship them on the same load plan to save freight. That is the package the sales desk quotes.
What moves the price
- Arm system rating — heavier arms lift fuller containers but cost more and need a heavier chassis
- Stability legs and safety valves — non-negotiable for safe lifts on soft ground
- Container specification — reinforced edges for rubble, covers for road compliance
From FOB to Lagos

Prices on this page are indicative FOB ranges based on current factory listings; duty, levies and FX rates change — always confirm current requirements with SON, the CBN, Nigerian Customs and your clearing agent before shipping.
